Archaeology	Shamanism	Wineries

The word shaman is derived from the word szaman from the language of the Tungus tribe that dwells in Siberia. Although linguists are uncertain of its exact meaning, one possible translation is "pathfinder."	The Spanish conquistador Marquis Francisco de Caravantes was the first person to bring grapes to Peru in the sixteenth century. Since then, wine growers have worked to develop and perfect growing techniques for wine grapes

There are thousands of species of wildlife on South America, ranging from colorful macaws to the three-toed sloth, the slowest moving mammal on Earth; from rare monkey species to the pink river dolphin (they really are bright pink!) Peru has 2 800 km of Pacific Ocean coastal waters. The Humboldt current’s cold waters affect three-fourths of the coast, and warm tropical currents affect the other fourth.
